Biography
Carme Artigas is now the Co-Chair at the AI Advisory Board of the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology. In this capacity, she is providing key recommendations to the United Nations on the direction to take in the field of artificial intelligence, underscoring her influence and leadership in the international arena of technology and AI.
Artigas, prominent businesswoman and Spanish leader, is recognised for her role as co-founder and CEO of Synergic Partners, a pioneering Big Data company. Her innovative vision has positioned her as a key figure in the technology sector, being one of the most influential women in data according to O’Reilly Media. As the former Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Spain, she has spearheaded numerous regulations at the European level.

Her educational work includes teaching in master’s programs in technology and innovation. Additionally, as the Secretary of State for Digitalisation in Spain, she has been the main architect of pioneering AI regulation in the European Union.
