Biography
John Sitilides is Principal at Trilogy Advisors LLC, Washington, D.C., specialising in U.S. government relations, geopolitical risk, and international affairs. He is also a National Security Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
A frequent keynote speaker at corporate, investor, and government forums, Sitilides addresses geopolitical risk management and the global business impact of international security policy. His briefings help executives, investors, and civic leaders understand, anticipate, and mitigate risk in markets across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
From 2006 to 2023, he served as a U.S. Department of State Diplomacy Consultant under four presidential administrations, leading professional development at the Foreign Service Institute. He chaired the Woodrow Wilson Center Southeast Europe Project (2005–2011), following his role as Executive Director of the Western Policy Center, which merged with the Wilson Center in 2004.
Sitilides has testified before Congress and regularly appears as a national security commentator on Bloomberg News, CNN, FOX News, and other major media. His insights have featured in outlets including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, Asia Times, and Institutional Investor.
His U.S. client portfolio spans real estate, agribusiness, aviation, and emerging tech, with a focus on environmental regulatory reform and private property rights. He began his career in the U.S. Senate and on successful political campaigns.
He serves on the Executive Committee of Leadership 100 and has held board roles with VR/AR and biotech firms, global humanitarian organisations, and the Advanced Imaging Society. He is a member of international security and policy associations and holds a Master’s in International and Public Affairs from Columbia University. Sitilides lives with his wife, an attorney and businesswoman, and their four sons.
