Biography

Gonzalo Muñoz was appointed as the United Nations High-Level Climate Change Champion for COP25 by the President of Chile in 2019. In this role, he co-led key global initiatives alongside Nigel Topping, such as Race to Zero, Race to Resilience, and GFANZ, all critical in advancing the global push for net-zero emissions and climate resilience.

Prior to his COP25 appointment, Gonzalo co-founded TriCiclos, one of Latin America’s leading companies in the circular economy and recycling sector. TriCiclos has been a pioneer in transforming waste management and promoting sustainable business practices, setting a high standard for the recycling industry across the region.

Gonzalo also co-founded Sistema B, the Latin American branch of the global B Corps movement, which seeks to redefine business success by balancing profit with purpose. Through this initiative, he has helped establish a network of companies committed to social and environmental impact, transparency, and accountability.

In addition to his work with TriCiclos and Sistema B, Gonzalo co-founded the consulting firm Manuia and the winery Polkura. These ventures further demonstrate his commitment to sustainability across industries.
