He currently holds the position of Professor of Particle Physics at Manchester University and serves as The Royal Society Professor for Public Engagement in Science. He is also a leading figure in the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.

Brian’s acclaimed TV series include Wonders of the Universe, The Planets, Wonders of Life, and Forces of Nature, all of which explore the fundamental science behind everything from the cosmos to biological structures. He has also presented other programmes such as Stargazing, Space Hoppers, The Big Bang, and several editions of Horizon. His bestselling books, which accompany the Wonders of… series, are complemented by his co-authored works Why Does E=mc2? and The Quantum Universe.

Brian’s presentations, delivered at venues like TED and the World Economic Forums in Davos and China, are known for their ability to engage, inform, and entertain. Using stunning visuals of the cosmos, he shares his passion for science, discussing the story of life, the universe, and everything in between. He advocates for science as a unifying force in humanity’s quest to understand our origins and solve enduring mysteries. Brian also delves into the groundbreaking work at CERN, which uses cutting-edge technology to recreate the conditions of the universe just after the Big Bang.
