Biography

Dr Mary Collins is a Chartered Psychologist, Author and Leadership Coach with over 20 years’ experience working at the intersection of leadership development, talent management and workplace wellbeing. Her work spans healthcare, professional services and global organisations, supporting leaders to build high-performing, psychologically healthy workplaces grounded in evidence rather than trends.

Mary is currently Programme Director of the Professional Diploma in Leadership & Workplace Wellbeing at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), where she works extensively with senior leaders in the healthcare sector across Ireland and the Middle East. She designs and delivers executive development programmes focused on leadership capability, coaching skills and sustainable performance, including academic pathways up to PhD level.

Prior to joining RCSI, Mary spent seven years as Head of Talent and Learning at Deloitte Ireland, where she led large-scale leadership and talent initiatives within a high-performance professional services environment. Alongside her academic and corporate roles, she runs a successful business psychology practice, working across multiple sectors on leadership effectiveness, succession, and culture.

Mary serves on the Advisory Board of the American Irish Medical Summit (AIMS), a prestigious global network of innovators and pioneers in medicine and health sciences, where her focus is leadership psychology and wellbeing. For the past four years, she has also co-directed the Neuroscience Coaching Network, a global programme developed in collaboration with a leading international neuroscientist, integrating coaching psychology with applied neuroscience.

An experienced and engaging speaker, Mary has delivered keynotes and leadership sessions internationally across the US, Europe and the Middle East for over a decade. Her speaking is known for combining academic rigour, practical application and warmth, making complex psychological concepts accessible and immediately useful for senior audiences.

Mary’s doctoral research was published in Managing Professionals & Other Smart People (2015). She is the author of Recruiting Talented Professionals (2021), and her most recent book, Emotional Intelligence & Dentistry, was launched in Spring 2025. In December 2019, she was one of just 15 recipients nationwide to receive a Coaching Hero Award, presented by the Minister of State for Higher Education, recognising her contribution to the coaching profession in Ireland.
